I believe that everyone has an innate talent; something they are intrinsically good at. Some of us are better at realizing it than others.
When I was in sixth grade, we a had a weekly history assignment to write an essay on something of historical significance. The topic was left up to each student to decide.
One Saturday morning, long before the days of the internet, PBS was airing a show on the St. Louis Browns. Situated in the living room with a bowl of cereal and a pad of paper, I sat down in front of the family Zenith color console television.
The following Monday, shortly after I handed in my 500-word report, Mr. Contantino called me to his desk. I thought I was in trouble.
“Where did you get this paper?” he asked.
“What do you mean?” I thought it to be such an absurd question.
“Did you copy this from an encyclopedia?”
“No. I watched a show and took notes. Why?”
“Well, it’s very good.”
I got an A on that paper. That was when I first realized what my innate talent was.
Since then, I have obtained a bachelor’s degree in media communications and writing.
I’ve been a freelance writer for The Patch.com, a hyper local news outlet for which I highlighted local business owners and Metrowiremedia.com, an online commercial real estate newsletter, where I interviewed market leaders, showcased industry projects and ran the sites social media.
I have been published in Mary Englebreit’s Home Companion and Short Fiction Break.
I love cooking, writing, reading, gardening and fitness. You will likely find several blog posts on this site, devoted to any and all of those topics.
I am a wife and a mom of three very active and hungry boys. Here a photo of my brood.

I’m a very pround mama. They are all grown and flown now. And while once a mom, always a mom, now is the time to shift focus.
